a shoot last thursday - Jenna. She's gonna be in one of my next "french" landscapes. A modern version of the Little Red Riding Hood. Still looking to have a wolf on set... I had that dream as a little boy that a wolf, walking on his back legs, with a napkin around his neck with fork and knife in each hand... was coming to me to eat me in my bed. Great time.

just to give an idea of where I started from. An idea, a place, a studio with a team et ... voila ! Well after a bunch of hours of post-production indeed. The second one of this mini-series is gonna be done in the next days. Thought I wouldn't have worked on the 4th... happy one.

food and wine, see some people, and then eat and drink again. That's about it - plus some pictures in between. Life in France seems to be an endless "terrasse" lunch. We got lucky and got a lot of sun. In May 28 2007, it was snowing in my region. And during the first days of May 2010, it was snowing not only in my home town but also in Paris. "Y'a plus d'saison".

in Boston last week assisting on a shoot at a water treatment plant. Not very conventional but great ideas to snap shot, very industrial looking and all that crap... you know. If I got that right, they treat 2 billion gallons a day. Now that's something, and at least tones of fertilizer.

Just back from a snowy New York. Same old... where old stones embrace performance art, shading the sky and lighting the mind. You can go outside at 11pm and look for a restaurant - no problem. Push an opaque door of the village, and feel the atmosphere of a traditional tavern - tastier food though. Left the big apple covered with snow and came back in a sunny homie foggy city.

characters and sets, illusions and reality, ladies masked with make-up, gentlemen armored with suits. This all ads to the charm. Sweet guys wearing their sunday bold face. After a road trip with a friend, you feel like Alice fallen in the hole of Wonderland. That just felt right, everything was were it was supposed to be.

the tree is dead tonight

another tree has fallen under human pressure. This particular one was special, a piece of a larger project. Not that he was annoying anybody or being a danger for society. He got an early autumn cut. On an early sunday we had the surprise to find OUR tree laying down, for a long nap. No doubt he had a long and happy life.

as he likes to describe himself, Jud is a "old school" hippie He likes to say he is only 86 years old, but even in his 90's he keeps a fresh sense of humor, a nice word for the ladies, an intense look here, a questioning eyebrow there. His fans got together to listen him... in the Golden Gate Park during his pic-nic, as every year,.

... i do appreciate even more the sf weather, sunny even in january. france was... france. good food, wine and a cold winter with snow. lovely. and paris... never look the same. i entered for the first time ever in the sacré coeur ("holy heart"), the montmartre basilica.

the stars on the eiffel tower were there to symbolize the french presidency of the european union during passed 6 months.
